What it costs
At Trasna, we do not charge you for our service (we receive an administration fee from the hospital you choose)
we present you with a choice of hospitals with their costs.
Before you travel, we make sure you are aware of all the costs you are likely to incur.
The HSE requires you to pay upfront for your treatment, directly to your chosen hospital and to claim reimbursement upon your return. We can guide you through process and supply you with the relevant forms and paperwork to get the reimbursement rate back.
We can advise you on HSE reimbursement rates and assist with obtaining finance. The HSE does not reimburse any non-medical costs i.e. flights, accommodation or general out-of--pocket expenses.

Example: Patients traveling for a Hip Replacement:
- If the current HSE reimbursement rate for a Hip Replacement is up to €15,000
- The cost of a hip replacement ranges from €9,950 – € 16,000 depending on your choice of hospital and location.
- A Patient who travels to a hospital for hip replacement which costs €9,950 will be reimbursed €9,950 , therefore there will be no shortfall on the treatment cost.
A Patient who pays € 16,000 in a different hospital will only be able to claim €15,000 as the maximum reimbursement.
